The withdrawals from the Provident Fund to the subscriber can be granted for different reasons before retirement, provided the sanctioning authority is satisfied that the subscriber's pecuniary circumstances justify the withdrawal, and the amount advanced will be expended on the object for which it is given.
Withdrawals may be permitted once every six months i.e., twice in a financial year.
The officer concerned should satisfy the sanctioning authority within a period of six months from the date of drawing the money that it has been utilized for the purpose for which it was intended; otherwise, the whole amount of withdrawal together with interest will be liable to recovery in one lump sum.
Any amount withdrawn, which is found to be in excess of that actually required by the officer for the purpose should be redeposited forthwith into the fund together with the interest due thereon.
