Accountant General

Shri Ranendu Sarkar, IA&AS, (2009) Accountant General, Tripura has assumed charge on 1st November, 2024.

Prior to joining this office, he had performed as Sr. Deputy Accountant General (G & SSA) in the Office of the Pr. Accountant General (G & SSA), West Bengal during the period 2016-2018. He also held the charge of Sr. Deputy Accountant General (Works Accounts) in the office of the Pr. AG (A&E), Odisha at Branch office Puri from 2018-2022. Thereafter, he took charge as a Sr. Deputy Accountant General in the Office of the Pr, Accountant General (Audit-1), West Bengal, where he served from August 2022 to October 2024.

He has completed his Honour’s degree in Accountancy from Goenka College of Commerce & Business Administration, Kolkata. He has vast work experiences in the fields of both Commercial Audit and Civil Audit. Before joining this department, he had completed three years’ articleship for appearing in Chartered Accountant Exam under the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India.

He has handled various foreign assignments like Compliance & Financial Audit of World Health Organisation (WHO) Country Office (Philippines) and WHO Western Pacific Regional Office.

Further, he also performed as Expenditure Observer in State Assembly Election for the state of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
