Ms. Suhasini Gotmare, IA&AS
Ms. Suhasini Gotmare, an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Services (IA&AS), has assumed charge as the Accountant General (A&E) – II, Maharashtra, Nagpur with effect from forenoon of 17-04-2025.
Ms. Suhasini Gotmare is an accomplished officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service belonging to the 2002 batch. She holds a Master’s degree in Arts and brings over 22 years of extensive experience in public sector auditing, having served in diverse capacities across multiple offices of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) across India.
Her professional experience includes high-impact international assignments such as the audit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Nepal, Cambodia, and Thailand; a review of Fraud Management at UNOPS headquarters in Denmark; and embassy audits in Israel and Bhutan. She has also contributed to global capacity-building initiatives, having trained international auditors in Nanjing, China, and participated in the audit of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva.
Ms. Gotmare holds internationally recognized certifications including:
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA):
Both credentials are conferred by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and are globally respected indicators of professional expertise in internal audit and fraud risk management.
She is also an INTOSAI-certified facilitation expert in Performance Auditing and serves as a resource person and trainer for key audit domains such as Receipt Audit, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Performance Audits. She was part of the Indian delegation to the trilateral seminar held in Suzdal, Russia.
In her previous postings, she served in senior audit roles including at the Office of the Director General of Audit (Central Receipts), New Delhi, and the Office of the DG Audit (Central Revenue). Most recently, she has held the position of Principal Director of Audit, South Central Railway, Secunderabad.
During her tenure as PDA/SCR, she provided strategic leadership to audit teams, emphasizing quality, depth, and relevance in audit outcomes. Her guidance significantly strengthened the conduct and impact of several key performance audits, notably:
- Performance Audit on Project Management in Indian Railways
This audit was commended for its comprehensive scope and timely execution. The South-Central Railway management lauded the clarity and practicality of the audit observations, which were delivered within stringent deadlines. - Performance Audit on Waste Management in Indian Railways
This review led to tangible improvements in waste handling and disposal practices. Recommendations such as formalizing ties with State Pollution Control Boards were promptly acted upon by SCR, reflecting the audit’s direct policy influence. - Performance Audit on Railway Policy for Child Protection
The audit played a key role in reinforcing child protection mechanisms at railway stations. It led to the strengthening of standard operating procedures and demonstrated the organization’s sensitivity to social responsibility.
