Mandate
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India and in terms of the MCS (Pension) Rules 1982, the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E)-II Maharashtra Nagpur, discharges its duty of scrutiny and authorisation ofvarious types of pension and retirement benefits of State Government employees serving in the areas under the jurisdiction of this office.
Process of authorisation
All pension related entitlementmatters/retirement benefits of a State Government employee are referred to the PAG by the pension sanctioning authorities of the State government after sanction. These are scrutinised by this office in accordance with the Rules and Orders issued by the State government from time to time and authorised by issue of Authorities.
Location
The Pension Branch of this office is functioning in a historic buildingat Civil Lines, Nagpur, which is approximately at a distance of one kilometre from the Main Building.

Pensioners under our jurisdiction
This Office is authorising the retirement benefits in respect of following categories of State Government employees working in the jurisdiction of this Office i.e. Marathwada and Vidarbha regions of Maharashtra State –
- All the State Government Employees;
- Employees of Government Aided Schools/Colleges and Universities;
- All India Services Officers (except pension cases of IAS Officers which are dealt by O/o the PAG (A&E)-I, Maharashtra, Mumbai); andFreedom fighters.
- High Court Judges from Nagpur and Aurangabad benches of High Court of Mumbai and
- MLAs/ MLCs
