Overview

In accordance with Article 151(2) of the Constitution of India, the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on Performance Audits of Punjab Agricultural University and Solid Waste Management by Urban Local Bodies in Punjab - Government of Punjab (Report No. 5 of 2025) was forwarded to the State Government on 14 November 2025. The Report was presented to the State Legislature on 16 March 2026.

The Report, covering the period from April 2017 to March 2022, highlights important issues in financial management, institutional efficiency, environmental governance and public service delivery across two critical sectors of the State.

  • Performance Audit of Punjab Agricultural University reviews University’s performance in planning, financial management, academics, research and extension activities. Records from colleges, research stations, seed farms and Krishi Vigyan Kendras were examined.

 

Performance Audit on Solid Waste Management by Urban Local Bodies in Punjab reviews the planning process for SWM, financial management of SWM funds, efficiency in waste collection, segregation, transportation, and processing; and achievement of SDGs and monitoring and internal control mechanisms.
