Overview

This Report has 4 Chapters and presents the result of audit of receipts comprising VAT, State Excise, Tax on Motor Vehicles, Stamp Duty and Registration Fees and other taxes and non-tax receipts of the NCT of Delhi.  It includes three Reviews- (i) cross verification of declaration forms used in interstate Trade and Commerce, (ii) Computerization in Motor Vehicles Departments, (iii) interest Receipts and 12 paragraphs involving underassessment/ short/ payment/ loss of revenue etc. of Rs.1479.98 crore.               

Review on cross verification of declaration forms used in interstate Trade and Commerce highlights systems and compliance deficiencies in administration, misutilisation of declaration of forms, concealment of sale. Review on Computerization in Motor Vehicles Departments highlights failure of Department to formulate an IT strategy and integrate it database of various commercial vehicles, etc. Review on interest Receipts highlights deficiencies relating to accountal/disbursal of loans given to various deptt. and recovery of interest thereon.
