This Report for the year ended March 2016 has been prepared for submission to the Governor of Karnataka under Article 151 of the Constitution of India for being laid in the State legislature.
The Report contains 17 paragraphs including Compliance Audit on “Planning and Execution of works under Central Road Fund” and “Providing Solar pumps for irrigation under Special Component plan / Tribal sub-plan”. Besides paragraphs on Compliance Audit of the Departments of the Government of Karnataka under the Economic Services, including Departments of Commerce & Industries, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Public Works, Ports & Inland Water Transport, and Water Resources (Minor Irrigation). However, Department of Agriculture and allied activities, Food Security – Public Distribution System, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj are excluded and covered in the Report on the General and Social Services.
The instances mentioned in this Report are among those, which came to notice in the course of test audit for the year 2015-16 as well as those which came to notice in earlier years, but could not be reported in previous Audit Reports.
