Coal & Mining Audit

Coal & Mining Audit covers the audit of allocation and auction of mineral/coal blocks, mining leases, production and dispatch, royalty and other government revenues, environmental compliance, mine closure, and mining PSUs. Trainees should have a working knowledge of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (MMDR Act), Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015, Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015, Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2017, Mineral Concession Rules/State Mineral Concession Rules, and applicable Environmental and Forest laws. Important audit areas include Royalty, Dead Rent, District Mineral Foundation (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET), auction premium, production and dispatch verification, illegal/excess mining, environmental clearances, mine closure obligations, and assessment/recovery of Government revenue.
