INTRODUCTION

The Office of the Principal Director of Audit (Finance and Communication) Branch at Patna is tasked with the audit of Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Autonomous Bodies (ABs) falling under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Communications (MoC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in the state of Bihar and Jharkhand. This office also works as internal auditor of Pay & Account offices under Indian Audit and Accounts Departments in the state of Bihar & Jharkhand.

Shri Ajay Kumar Jha, IA&AS (2012 Batch), assumed the additional charge of Director, Finance & Communication Audit Office, Patna on 16 September 2025. He holds a B.Tech. degree and has extensive experience in Central Audit, State Audit, and Headquarters assignments of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. He is presently serving as Senior Deputy Accountant General (AMG-II & Administration) in the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Bihar, Patna, while concurrently holding the additional charge of Director, Finance & Communication Audit Office, Patna. He has also participated in international audit assignments at Rome and Dhaka.
