Shri S Sunil Raj, IAAS belongs to the 1996 batch of the Civil Services. He has done his Masters in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and also Masters in Defence and Strategic studies from the University of Madras. Prior to his posting at Jammu and Kashmir, he was serving as Director General(Audit) in the office of Director General(Audit) at London. In his earlier stints asPrincipal Accountant General as Accountant General, he has served in Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. He has also served in various offices in New Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. During his deputation assignment to Government of Kerala he was in the Board of Kerala Water Authority as Member (Accounts). His international audit assignments include the audit of United Nations, Food and Agricultural Organisation and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
An avid badminton player, his other interests include reading, gardening, water conservation and renewable and green energy sources.
