About Us
The office of the Member Audit Board and Ex-officio Director of Commercial Audit was formed in July 1972 by upgrading the office of the Chief Auditor, Commercial Accounts which was then functioning under the control of MAB Bangalore.
The name of the office has been changed as O/o The Principal Director of Commercial Audit & Ex-officio Member Audit Board, Madras with effect from March 1990.
The office is functioning in the building of Indian Oil Corporation, Southern Region, Chennai since 1984. This office is upgraded to O/o Director General of Commercial Audit & Ex-officio Member Audit Board with effect from 01.01.2019 and renamed as O/o Director General of Commercial Audit, Chennai from March 2020. Presently the office has been renamed as Principal Director of Commercial Audit, Chennai
