Profile

K. Subramanian is an IAAS officer, with 30 years of experience in public sector oversight - audit, investigation, anticorruption, and public financial management.

BTech with MBA, he is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Information System Auditor (CISA). Certified in Public Financial Management by IMF, trained in International Financial Investigation at George Washington University and has an Advanced Certificate in Business Consulting.

He specializes in public procurement and has a Professional Diploma in Public Procurement. Authored a book on auditing procurement and teaches public procurement to civil servants and public sector managers.

He has a vast international experience which includes auditing ten UN agencies like UNICEF, FAO etc.  Served as Director External Audit of WHO and as Convenor of the Technical Group of Panel of External Auditors for the UN. Developed the Knowledge Management System, for International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities which was rolled out in Nov 2013 in Panama City.

As Director and later as Director General Audit of Air force, audited some of the most sensitive and complex defence procurement. Served as Accountant General of Jammu & Kashmir. Served for six years as OSD to three Central Vigilance Commissioners (2009-14) where he also managed policy issues and international relations. Drafted the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and prepared India for ratification of UN Convention against Corruption. Was involved in drafting the legislation for Jan Lokpal and amendments to the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He has several Papers and Publications in national and international seminar and journals. He was conferred the Distinguish Alumni Award by NIT, Tiruchirappalli (2023).
