Profile

Satish Kumar Garg belongs to the 1994 batch of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IAAS). Since August 2024, he is posted in Jaipur as Principal Accountant General (Audit-I), Rajasthan. He has the responsibility of auditing the revenue and the expenditure of the State of Rajasthan.

Earlier, he has gone through postings across the country at different offices of the Comptroller & Auditor-General of India such as Kolkata, Shimla, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Agartala, Kohima, and Allahabad. He has contributed in various fields of Government Accounting and Auditing of the expenditures and revenues of the State Governments, the Railways, and the Telecom Departments. At his instance, Railways and Telecom departments made significant changes in their material procurement processes. Based on his advice and audit findings, the State Governments discontinued irregular accounting of receipts and payments of public funds which helped improvement in the public financial management system.

At the international level, he has conducted audit of international institutions such as United Nations and its Agencies in Germany, Ethiopia, Thailand and Western Sahara. He has also audited the Embassy of India, Nepal at Kathmandu (one of the largest Indian Mission). He has gone through trainings at National Audit Office (NAO), UK at London and Management Development Program at Berkeley University, California in USA.

He had qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November, 1988 with an AIR 12. He is also a Company Secretary with 1st rank in the Eastern Region (December 1990) and an LL.B. from Delhi University (1995).
