Shri Himanshu, IA&AS
DEPUTY ACCOUNTANT GENERAL (AMG-II)
Shri Himanshu is an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), 2023 Batch. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry. Prior to joining the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, he served the Government of Uttar Pradesh as an Executive Magistrate, where he acquired extensive experience in public administration and governance.
He joined the Indian Audit and Accounts Service on 06 November 2023 and successfully completed his foundational training at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla. Since 29 July 2025, he has been serving as Deputy Accountant General (AMG-II) in the office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Tripura, Agartala.
In his present assignment, Shri Himanshu is entrusted with the supervision and monitoring of audit activities relating to the following sectors/departments of the Government of Tripura:
- Health and Welfare Department
- Education Department
- Skill Development and Employment Department
- Finance Department
- Agriculture Department
- Food and Allied Industries Department
- Water Resources Department
- Environment Department
- Science and Technology Department
- Public Works Department
- Information Technology and Communication Department
- Law and Order Department
- Culture and Tourism Department
- General Administration Department
His current audit responsibilities include supervision, monitoring, and quality assurance of the following major audit assignments:
- Performance Audit on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy.
- State-specific Compliance Audits on the Performance of the Drug Controller and Strengthening of Fire Safety.
- Information Systems (IS) Audit of the e-Procurement System.
- Audit of the implementation of the four SASCI Reform Blocks (IFMIS, Works & Procurement System, System Integration, and Digitization Coverage), including audit of SASCI funds since 2020–21.
- Data-led audits of major social sector schemes, including PMAY-G, PMAY-U, State Urban Employment Programme, Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayta Prakalpa, and IGNOAPS.
- Data-led audit of the Public Works Department.
- Data-led Establishment Audit across Government departments.
