This office conducts the audit under section 14 and 19 of CAG's (DPC) Act 1971
Audit jurisdiction
Director General of Audit (Steel), Ranchi is responsible for audit of 24 Public Sector Enterprises which are audited as principal auditor, 19 as sub-auditor, 4 units under Ministry of Commerce and Industry and remaining 11 units grant based audit.. This Office audits a mix of companies covering the fields of Steel, Heavy Engineering, Power, refractories, engineering consultancy, mining etc. Some of the major companies for which DGA (Steel), Ranchi is the principal auditor which are “Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)”, “Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC)”, “MECON Limited”, “NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL)”, “Bokaro Power Supply Company (P) Limited (BPSCL)”,“Nabinagar Power Generating Company Limited (NPGCL)”, “Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL) and Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited (BRBCL)”.
