Raj Bhasha is dealt with by Hindi section under the supervision of Principal Director of Audit. Hindi Cell of this office is functioning with one Hindi Officer and three Junior Hindi Translators. Out of three Junior Hindi Translators One JHT is posted at CLW, Chittaranjan, one JHT is posted at Metro Railway (Audit), Kolkata, and one JHT at RPU, Kolkata. The objective of Hindi Cell is to implement the orders and instructions received from Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard from time to time and to encourage Staff members for using Hindi in their day to day official works. Activities of Hindi Cell are listed below.
- Conducting quarterly meeting of the Official Language Implementation Committee under the Chairmanship of PDA to review the progress of Hindi in this office.
- Preparation and submission of Various returns/reports relating to Hindi.
- Translation work from Hindi to English and vice- versa.
- Publishing of Annual Hindi Magazine ‘Shubh Abhiyan’.
- Sponsoring Staff members for Hindi Training (Prabodh, Praveen, Pragya and Parangat).
- Attending Kolkata Town Official Language Implementation Committee (KOLTOLIC) meeting regularly.
