The Officer Trainees at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla have also made a humble effort to contribute to society by way of operating a Child Care Centre for children of migrant labourers. At the Child Care Centre, they have tried to create a safe and conducive environment for the children's healthy development. They provide the children with pre-school education, healthy and nutritious food, regular health check-ups and on the whole try to contribute to the positive growth of the children. The Child Care Centre has hired two full-time caretakers to ensure that it functions efficiently and regularly, apart from the daily monitoring by the Directors and Officer Trainees. The Centre is run primarily on contributions by the Director General, Faculty, trainees and staff at the Academy. Every year, the Officer Trainees also make documentary films on some socially relevant themes. The objective of this initiative is to inculcate the habit among OTs of giving back to the society.
