From the Director General’s Desk

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the website of the National Academy of Audit & Accounts (NAAA), Shimla — the premier training institution of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. Since its inception in 1950, the Academy has been nurturing officers of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and values required to serve the nation with integrity and professionalism.

At NAAA, we firmly believe that training is not only about acquiring technical expertise but also about fostering analytical ability, ethical orientation, and a spirit of continuous learning. Alongside our rigorous academic curriculum, the Academy actively encourages cultural pursuits, sports, team-building exercises, and multiple extra-curricular activities that contribute to the holistic development of our IA&AS Officer Trainees. These opportunities help inculcate camaraderie, leadership, and a balanced perspective on professional and personal growth.

As we enter the 75th year of our journey, the Academy remains committed to innovation in pedagogy, integration of technology in learning, and global engagement with peer institutions. Our focus is to prepare officers to meet emerging governance challenges in areas such as financial management, performance and compliance auditing, information systems, and environmental accountability.
