The audit functions of the Accountant General (Audit) Meghalaya are:
- Audit of financial transactions of the Government of Meghalaya (Receipts & Expenditure).
- Audit of State Government Companies, Corporations and Departmental undertakings.
- Audit of receipts and expenditure of the Central Government Offices.
- Audit of autonomous bodies in the State substantially funded by the State or Central Government.
- Audit of District Councils.
- Audit of civil pension payments made through public sector banks.
- Audit of the Finance Accounts and Appropriation Accounts of the Government of Meghalaya and the certification of these Accounts.
