Right to information ACT 2005

CAG has appointed Public Information Officers to assist in discharging the duties under this Act in the headquarter office and all the field offices.

The information in this area is for the purposes of dissimination under the Act. However, it is advisable to get it verified from the PIOs before use in any manner.

PROCEDURE OF FILING OF APPLICATION

A person, who desires to obtain any information under this Act shall make a request in writing or through Electronic means in English or in Hindi accompanying such fee as mentioned in Procedure 3 below.

FORMAT OF APPLICATION FORM

The Applicant should clearly mention his/her Name & Address for Correspondence, Telephone No.(Optional) and specific information which he/she wants if practicable with No. & Date etc.

FEE

  1. Fee may be made in Cash against proper receipt or by Banker’s Cheque/ Bank Draft/ Indian Postal Order in favour of PAO, O/o A.G(A&E), Telangana, Hyderabad. 
  2. Quantum of Fee :- A request for obtaining information under Sub-Section (1) of Section 6 shall be accompanied by an application fee of Rupees Ten by way as mentioned  above. Otherwise the request will not be treated as a valid request and no information shall be provided.

    For providing the information under sub-section (1) of Section 7, the fee shall be charged at the following rates :

    1. Rupees two for each page created or copied(A-4 or A-3 size paper)
    2. Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper
    3. Actual cost or price for samples or models and
    4. For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour, and a fee of rupees five for each subsequent hours.

APPEALS AND APPELLATE AUTHORITIES ETC. IF ANY

Appeals against the decision of CPIO/PIO can be made before the Appellate Authority as per section 19 (1) of RTI, Act 2005. Director General of Commercial Audit, Hyderabad is the Appellate Authority against the orders of the PIO.
