History

INTRODUCTION:

                         Office of the Director General of Audit (Shipping) was renamed w.e.01.04.2026 as Office of the Director General of Audit (Financial Services) due to reallocation of work between offices under Commercial Audit Wing vide HQ letter dt 12.02.2026.

                      Earlier known as Office of PDCA & Ex-Officio MAB-I was set up in 1969 was bifurcated in 1986 by creating MAB II office for the audit of Oil and Aviation sector. The office is located in 6thand 7th floor of RCB&KI, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. This office has three Resident Audit parties located in Mumbai and one each in Goa & Kandla. 
                    This office is entrusted with conducting audit of financial sector companies with Department of Financial services as the allocated Department.
