Shri Bibhudutta Basantia, IAAS is an MBA (Global Banking & Finance) from Birmingham Business School, Birmingham University, United Kingdom. He also holds a degree in MBA (Finance) from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore apart from the Masters of Science (Physics) degree from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. He joined as Director General of Audit (Coal), Kolkata on 14-09-2023. Prior to his posting as Director General of Audit (Coal and Mines), Kolkata, he was posted as Director General of Audit, East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar, Pr. Accountant General, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, as well as Accountant General, Gujarat. He had been on UNDP deputation to Kabul and worked as a Capacity Development Advisor in the Ministry of Economy, Afghanistan during 2012-13 advising significantly on policy making and coordination. He had also been deputed to various foreign audit assignments of United Nations during his career spreading over 28 years.
