Shri Biren Dineshchandra Parmar is an officer of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS), 1993 batch, with over three decades of distinguished service in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. An engineering graduate, he has held a wide range of senior leadership positions across commercial, railway, civil, and international audit domains.

He is presently serving as Director General of Audit (Mines & Coal), Kolkata, where he oversees audit of key extractive sector public enterprises. Earlier, he served as Director General/Principal Director of Commercial Audit, Mumbai, and as Principal Accountant General (A&E), Gujarat. His career also includes important deputation assignments such as Director (Finance), Metro Link Express, Gandhinagar, and addl. Financial Advisor, Addl Secretory Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.

Shri Parmar has extensive experience in performance audit, commercial audit, and international audit assignments. He has represented India in several overseas audit engagements, including assignments with UNAIDS, WHO, IOM, and participation in INTOSAI and AFROSAI-E forums.

Known for his strategic insight, administrative acumen, and commitment to audit excellence, Shri Parmar has made significant contributions to strengthening public sector accountability and governance.
