He is an officer of Indian Audit & Accounts Service of Indian Audit & Accounts Department under the C&AG of India and belongs to 1994 batch.

He has worked in various capacities in the department including as Director General (Staff), Principal Director (Strategic Management Unit), Accountant General (Jammu & Kashmir), Director (International Relations) and Director (International Centre for information Systems and Audit).  While on deputation to Government of India, he has worked in the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and Ministry of Urban Development.  Prior to his current position, he was on deputation to the New Delhi Municipal Council as Chief Auditor.

He has wide experience in the audit of multilateral agencies like the United Nations, World Health Organisaton.
