डीजीए (कोयला) का इतिहास

1 January 1974 - The office was set up as The Office of the Member, Audit Board & Ex-officio (Director of Commercial Audit-II) Kolkata for conducting mainly audit of public sector coal companies. The office is located in a two storied heritage building named “Nizam Palace” constructed in the first decade of the 19th century. The building is a fine example of neo-classical architecture.

March 1990 – The office was upgraded as The Office of the Principal Director of Commercial Audit & Ex-officio Member Audit Board-II, Kolkata.

August 2018 – The office is re-designated as The Office of the Director General of Commercial Audit & Ex-officio Member Audit Board – II, Kolkata.

June 2020 -  The office is re-designated as The Office of the Director General of Audit (Coal), Kolkata.

DGA (Coal) Kolkata, located at 234/4 AJC Bose Road, Old Nizam Palace. Kolkata-700020. The Office is headed by Director General of Audit (Coal) and assisted by one Deputy Director. This office is having a Branch Office at Ranchi headed by one Deputy Director. Under BO Ranchi there are two RAOs at Dhanbad and Nagpur each.
