Functions and Responsibilities of Audit Management Group-II (AMG-II)

Audit Management Group-II (AMG-II) is responsible for conducting Compliance Audits, Performance Audits, Subject Specific Compliance Audit (SSCA) , and Certification Audits of major Government projects, flagship schemes, Government departments, autonomous bodies, and externally aided projects.

AMG-II conducts the audit of 26 Government departments and autonomous bodies, including the Departments of Forest, Fisheries, Tourism & Civil Aviation, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Transport, Cooperation, Environment, Science & Technology, Public Works, Jal Shakti (Irrigation & Public Health), Printing & Stationery, Home Affairs, General Administration, Secretariat Administration, Law, Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Election, Lokayukta, Economics & Statistics, Information & Public Relations, Planning, Hospitality & Protocol, Governor Secretariat, Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, and the State Information Commission.

AMG-II is also responsible for conducting the Compliance Audit of various autonomous bodies, including Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur; Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni (Solan); HIMFED, Shimla; MILKFED, Shimla; Himachal Pradesh Livestock and Poultry Development Board, Shimla; Himachal Pradesh State Veterinary Council, Shimla; State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Shimla; State Seed and Organic Produce Certification Agency, Shimla; Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA); and Bus Stand Management and Development Authority (BSMDA), Shimla.

AMG-II also conducts the Compliance Audit of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority and the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs). In addition, AMG-II undertakes the Certification Audit of the accounts of the Department of Printing & Stationery and two externally aided projects, namely the National Hydrology Project and the Himachal Pradesh Public Financial Management Capacity Building Programme.
