Shri Samar Kant Thakur of the 1993 batch of Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS) took charge as Principal Accountant General, Aizawl, Mizoram from 26 May 2025.
Prior to his posting in Aizawl, Mizoram, he served as Director General (Parliamentary Committees) and IFA, New Delhi; as Principal Accountant General (Audit), Delhi; as Director General of Audit, Defence Services, Chandigarh and as Sr. Deputy Accountant General in the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit)-I, Karnataka, Bangalore. He has also served as Director (Finance), Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India.
