Third Schedule

Section  IV of the Third Schedule of   the Constitution of India prescribes the following form of oath or affirmation to be made by the Judges of the Supreme Court and the Comptroller  and Auditor-General of India at the time of assumption of office:—

“I, A.B., having been appointed Chief Justice (or a Judge)  of  the Supreme Court of India (or Comptroller and Auditor-General of India) do swear in the name of God (or solemnly affirm) that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the  Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, that I will duly and faithfully and to the best of my ability, knowledge and judgment perform the duties of my office without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and that I will uphold the Constitution and the laws.”
